JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Penn State Extension in Lebanon County seeks to hire a Part-Time Extension Support position to serve as a LIFT Program Instructor. Instructors lead morning face to face classes for 2 hours twice a week for eight to nine weeks, a few times a year. This position will report to the Food, Families, and Communities Extension Educator in Lebanon County.
Specific responsibilities include:
  • Lead participants in a 5-minute exercise warm-up.
  • Lead participants in 60 minutes of strength training exercises.
  • Lead a 5-minute cool-down.
  • Energize and motivate participants throughout the class.
  • Instruct short nutrition and health-related lessons
  • Demonstrate proper form and ensure participants are using the correct form, offering corrections if needed.
  • Conduct pre- and post-physical assessments and administer evaluations.
  • Assist educators in identifying potential class sites and assist with marketing efforts to promote the program.
  • Assist with class and participant reporting requirements.

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES
This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
