Job description

Mainframe Z/OS Engineer

Our great client in Milwaukee, WI has an immediate opening for a Mainframe Z/OS Engineer.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have 8+ years Systems Programming experience installing, configuring and supporting z/OS platform software and services:
  • Deep experience with z/OS, SMP/E, ISPF, Mainframe JCL and System Utilities
  • Programming experience to support one or more of the following languages – REXX, CLIST, Cobol, Assembler
  • Knowledge to support the following – JES2, VTAM, TCP/IP, USS, RACF, WLM, RMF
  • Hardware Infrastructure – Knowledge of Disk, VTS, IO Gens

Responsibilities:

  • Performing advanced technical support for primarily the mainframe platform; installing, configuring & testing mainframe vendor software across multiple LPAR's in a sysplex environment.
  • Provide general platform support – including troubleshooting, issue resolution and on-call duties.
  • Draw upon your skills to fulfill opportunities and challenges to problem solve, strategize, and create process improvements.
  • Participate in annual DR tests and Audits as needed.
