Job description

The Billing and Follow Up Specialist is responsible for managing specific aspects of the revenue cycle, including billing, follow up and collections. This role ensures accurate and timely processing of claims to maximize revenue and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Perform medical billing tasks, including the submission of claims to insurance companies

·        Review and verify patient information and insurance coverage.

·        Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve billing discrepancies.

·        Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to address billing inquiries.

·        Maintain accurate records of billing activities and patient accounts while meeting daily quota of 50 claims per day

·        Stay updated on changes in billing and coding regulations and payer requirements.

·        Provide support to the revenue cycle team and assist with special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

·        Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration, Medical Billing and Coding, or a related field preferred

·        Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing and coding.

·        Knowledge of healthcare billing and coding practices, including ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.

·        Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

·        Proficiency in medical billing softwares, Cerner and Meditech required

·      Proficiency in both Hospital and Clinic billing processes
