  • Work in an entrepreneurial environment with a collaborative team.
  • Join a startup company with over 100 healthcare clients and growing!

  • Executing migrations, design and improve ETL frameworks, automate repeatable workflows, and mentor junior team members.
  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and client implementation teams to ensure migrations are scalable, reliable, and aligned with national, state, and registry?specific requirements.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, healthcare data standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Data Architecture & Pipeline Design

  • Design, implement, and optimize repeatable ETL pipelines for large, complex registry datasets (Trauma, Burn, Surgery, EMS, etc.).
  • Evaluate and standardize tools, libraries, and patterns used for data migrations (e.g., Python based ETL frameworks, orchestration, CI/CD for data workflows).
  • Partner with platform engineering to ensure migration tools integrate cleanly with NQS APIs and core services.

Data Intake & Preparation

  • Handle large volume and complex source systems (multiple registries, multi facility extracts, mixed formats).
  • Profile datasets to identify anomalies, edge cases, and data quality issues up front, and define remediation strategies.
  • Design reusable schemas and templates for recurring client patterns.

Field Mapping & Data Transformation

  • Translate legacy fields into standardized NQS schemas across Trauma, Burn, Surgery, and related registries.
  • Design of mapping templates and crosswalks for high complexity implementations, including custom fields and site specific logic.
  • Normalize values using established rules including date/time logic, MV/SV handling, and categorical value alignment.
  • Maintain lookup files with strict adherence to formatting requirements (strings, zeros, codes, timestamps).

ETL Execution & Processing

  • Run internal ETL scripts and tools to process client datasets.
  • Identify and correct formatting issues, missing values, or malformed fields.
  • Generate JSON/XML payloads for upload and validate them against NQS schemas.

Quality Control & Validation

  • Compare source vs. converted datasets to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Validate transformed fields against expected picklists, formats, and clinical logic.
  • Document discrepancies and participate in remediation cycles.
  • Support iterative refinement of mappings based on client feedback.

Client & Internal Collaboration

  • Participate in discovery meetings with registry staff to understand legacy workflows and field usage.
  • Document decisions, anomalies, and special-case logic in migration artifacts.
  • Communicate progress, blockers, and validation findings to the Manager of Clinical Registry Data Integrations & Migrations.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Serve as a technical lead on high visibility migration projects, coordinating work across internal and client teams.
  • Mentor and support clinical registry migration specialists, providing code reviews, technical guidance, and best practices.
