As part of that goal, we're expanding our healthcare course offerings to prepare students for in-demand certification careers.
The Opportunity: We're seeking an experienced healthcare professional to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our Phlebotomy Technician course launching Fall 2026. In this role, you'll review and validate course content developed by our vendor partner, ensuring clinical accuracy, exam alignment, and industry relevance. You'll also have the opportunity to be featured as an expert voice in the course itself and in Preppy marketing materials - putting your expertise in front of thousands of students launching their healthcare careers.
What You'll Do: As an SME, you will:
Review course content for clinical accuracy, completeness, and NHA CPT exam alignment
• Provide expert feedback on errors, gaps, outdated information, and improvement opportunities
• Validate exam preparation content against the NHA Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam domains
• Collaborate with our academic team and content vendor to resolve questions and clarify standards
• Approve final content before course launch
• Following launch, hold 1 hour per week of virtual office hours to support enrolled students
• Participate in course and/or marketing features (photo, bio, recorded segments, or testimonials) as mutually agreed
Time Commitment:
• Course Build Phase: Estimated 20-30 hours total over 13 weeks (flexible, async schedule)
• Post-Launch: 1 hour per week for student office hours (ongoing, with notice)
Review Period: Now - September 2026 (extension possible)
Compensation: Competitive contract rate (details provided in offer)
Position Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Active NHA CPT (Certified Phlebotomy Technician) certification
• 3-4 years of phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting
• At least 2 years of active venipuncture and specimen collection experience within the past 5 years
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Clinical Laboratory Science, Health Sciences, or related field
• 5+ years of experience across multiple clinical settings (hospital, reference lab, blood donation center, outpatient clinic, etc.)
• Experience with special collection procedures (blood cultures, arterial draws, pediatric/geriatric collections, point-of-care testing)
• Teaching, precepting, or curriculum development experience
