Pixel is a boutique creative agency focused on strategic storytelling and high-impact campaigns. We work with leading brands like Canon to deliver concept-driven, visually powerful work across photo, video, digital, and print.


We’re hiring a Creative Director with exceptional conceptual thinking, creative leadership, production fluency, and hands-on skills in writing, art, or design. You’ll set the creative vision for campaigns, lead a multidisciplinary team, and ensure every deliverable connects strategically, creatively, and commercially.


Responsibilities

  • Set the creative vision across multiple campaigns, ensuring concepts are strategically sound and visually compelling
  • Lead a ~7-person creative team, guiding them from idea to execution.
  • Manage creative team staffing, performance standards, and growth.
  • Balance big-picture thinking with hands-on creative work in writing, art, or design
  • Partner closely with strategy, accounts, and production teams to align creative with business objectives
  • Oversee all stages of production—pre-production, on-set, and post—collaborating with directors and content creators
  • Ensure work meets commercial goals while maintaining creative excellence
  • Present concepts and work to internal teams and clients with clarity and confidence
  • Actively integrate AI tools into workflows to enhance speed, quality, and innovation
  • Keep current with trends in design, culture, and technology to keep Pixel’s work fresh and competitive


Qualifications

  • 7+ years in creative leadership roles at agencies, studios, or brand teams
  • Proven commercial track record, campaigns that meet sales goals while resonating culturally
  • Strong portfolio spanning digital, social, video, and print, with social-first storytelling experience
  • Willing to travel to SF or NYC once a month and as needed for shoots
  • Camera and content creation fluency (gear, workflows, creator culture)
  • Hands-on expertise in at least one creative craft (writing, art direction, or design)
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing multiple concurrent campaigns and mentoring teams
  • Significant on-set production experience, comfortable collaborating with directors and talent
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and Google Workspace; familiarity with project management tool
  • AI-positive mindset with a clear vision for how AI can enhance creative processes
  • SF or NYC-based with US work authorization
