The Senior Pharmacy Sales Executive (Specialty) uses targeted geographic analysis, engages with Physician offices to influence key decision makers to route patients' specialty drug prescriptions to CenterWell Specialty Pharmacy for fulfillment. You will focus on increasing orders to CenterWell Specialty Pharmacy, resulting in increased prescriptions and revenue. Your work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. You will make decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and you will perform work without direction. You will exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

The Senior Pharmacy Sales Executive (Specialty) manages a sales territory that includes CenterWell, a Humana-owned brand offering Primary Care, Home Health, and Pharmacy services.

  • Build relationships with front and back-office staff by conducting sales calls within the territory.

  • Provide staff education and information on options for patient use of Specialty Pharmacy medications.

  • Become a knowledgeable resource regarding specialty pharmacy medications and Humana pharmacy benefits.

Required Qualifications

  • Candidates must reside in or be within commuting distance of Northern Illinois, through Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and up to Green Bay, Wisconsin, or be willing to relocate to the area at their own expense.

  • Previous sales experience with documented success of meeting/exceeding goals.

  • Experience analyzing sales data and market trends to make effective decisions.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Experience establishing communication and engagement with prospects.

  • Demonstrate adaptability and a collaborative, team-oriented approach in dynamic environments.

  • Proven ability to establish, cultivate, and maintain strong relationships across partnering business segments to support organizational goals.

  • Must be comfortable with being in the field 5 days/week within territory lines, and occasional overnight travel.

  • This role is part of Humana's Fleet Driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to take possession of a company fleet vehicle and have a valid state driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM tool.

  • Bachelor's degree or 3 years of experience in sales and marketing.

  • Specialty Pharmacy or healthcare experience preferred.

Additional information

  • Workstyle: Field - This is a field position where employees perform their core duties at non-company locations, such as providing services at business partner facilities or prospects' and members' homes.

  • Travel Required: Up to 50%, 5 days/week within an assigned territory line, with occasional overnight travel. Additional travel may include attendance at offsite team engagement meetings, which may require air travel and overnight stays.

  • Driving Record: We will evaluate your driving record as part of a third-party background check and certain types or combinations of infractions may affect your eligibility for this position.

  • Typical Workdays & Hours: Monday - Friday; Central Standard Time (CST).

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


$84,700 - $115,500 per year


This job is eligible for a commission incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
