Equivity is seeking an experienced virtual paralegal to support attorneys in probate and estate administration matters. This is a remote opportunity to help guide families through the probate process with professionalism, efficiency, and compassion. Candidates should be well-versed in court procedures, document preparation, and managing deadlines associated with estate administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and file probate court documents, including petitions, notices, waivers, inventories, accountings, and closing statements.
- Prepare related correspondence and forms for clients, courts, and financial institutions.
- Track probate timelines and court deadlines, ensuring timely filings and compliance.
- Communicate with court clerks and maintain current knowledge of local rules and filing requirements.
- Manage case files, task lists, and calendars using cloud-based legal software.
- Assist with marshalling assets, preparing reports, and tracking distributions.
- Maintain proactive and professional communication with clients during standard business hours (9 AM - 6 PM).
About You:
- Minimum of 3 years of recent paralegal experience handling probate and estate administration matters.
- Skilled in preparing and filing probate documents with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with state-specific probate processes and court systems.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and case files simultaneously.
- Experience communicating with court personnel, financial institutions, and clients in a professional, responsive manner.
- Familiar with cloud-based legal software such as Clio, MyCase, or similar.
- Equipped with a Windows-based laptop, smartphone, and broadband internet connection.
