Job description

The Clinical Applications Manager, MR is responsible for the MRI clinical activities at Akumin fixed sites. The CAM will work with various teams across Akumin to develop QA/QC programs, MRSO programs, optimize scanner protocols, drive better image quality, communicate with radiologists, educate technologists, and a focus on driving revenues in MRI. The focus of this role is to improve the exams performed on our MRI units in our fixed division. Our unique ability to remote into many of our units will allow remote work. Sites not connected or certain programs will require travel with in person visits.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

Standardizing and optimization of MR scanners at fixed locations.

  • In person site visits or remote access to sites.

  • Teaches hands on applications training for technologists.

Manage use of Subtle AI across fixed locations.

  • Partner with Subtle applications to team to ensure higher productivity.

  • Work with local site administrators to drive higher productivity.

Assist in adoption of new procedures at fixed locations

  • In person visits or remote access to sites

Collaborate with physicians to drive standardization of protocols at fixed locations

Collaborate with various teams to drive quality and expertise.

  • Provides guidance on MR Safety and QA/QC.

  • Provides technical assistance to sales and marketing.

  • Conducts Centers of Excellence training seminars.

  • Creates learning modules for technologists.

Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Position Requirements:

  • Certificate from College or Technical School.

  • ARRT (R)(MR)

  • Expert understanding of multi-vendor fleet capabilities (Philips, GE, Siemens).

  • Expert in protocol optimization for varied MRI systems from various vendors and ages.

  • Deep understanding of MRI physics principles and pulse sequence optimization.

  • Ability to identify image artifacts, change parameters, change pulse sequences, and repeat the series without the image artifacts.

  • At least 10 years of professional experience in the field of Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

  • Requires experience in working with technologists, radiologists, and administrators to drive efficiency and productivity in MRI.

  • Requires ability to set up and train technologists on new procedures like whole-body imaging, Mp-prostate, breast, and DTI.

  • Requires an understanding of MRI safety and policies related to safety in MRI.

  • Strong experience in delivering live, virtual, and blended learning for technologists.

  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and assignments simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated ability to articulate learning objectives that are focused, concise, and measurable.

  • 40-50% Travel may be required.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

  • MRSO and/or willing to acquire MRSO certification

  • 20 years of professional experience in the field of Magnetic Resonance Imaging

  • 10 years of clinical applications experience at leading vendors

Physical Requirements:

Standard office environment.May be exposed to a strong magnetic field and environmental hazards such as exposure to noise, and travel.

More than 50% of the time:
