Overview
The Procurement Business Lead - SAP plays a critical role in the organization's S/4HANA Transformation Program, ramping up in Q3 FY2026. This role serves as the business liaison for the project by being the subject matter expert and key change agent for the procurement function.
This individual will leverage deep expertise in category management, contract management, and SAP Ariba to optimize/standardize our procurement processes , drive automation, and ensure a strict "Fit-to-Standard" transition from legacy ECC 6.0 to SAP S/4HANA, working in parallel with our consultant partners.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Process Design & "Fit-to-Standard" Optimization
-Frictionless Procurement: Design and implement future-state procurement processes that maximize touchless PO rates and eliminate manual interventions within the procurement cycle.
-Ariba & Supplier Network Integration: Serve as the subject matter expert for SAP Ariba and the Supplier Business Network, optimizing supplier onboarding, collaboration, and transaction automation.
-Process Mining: Partner with the SAP Process Architect to analyze Signavio process mining findings.
-Standardization: Apply insights to ruthlessly transition the department from highly customized legacy ECC 6.0 workflows to standard S/4HANA best practices.
-Procurement Strategy: Implement procurement best practices and sourcing/category strategies within our future design to drive a resilient, yet cost efficient, supply base
2. Data & Migration Governance
-Master Data Design: Participate in defining the procurement master data requirements based on the future business process design and SAP Signavio analysis.
-Data Integrity: Participate in data cleanup efforts with Legal, Controls, and IT to purge outdated vendor and contract data, ensuring high integrity for supplier master records.
-Metrics Alignment: Support data migration and validation efforts to ensure future-state data structures seamlessly track critical KPIs like DPO and supplier service levels..
3. Change Management & Testing Liaison
-Procurement Change Agent: Act as the primary organizational change management (OCM) catalyst within the procurement function, driving the adoption of next-generation ERP capabilities.
-Training & Playbooks: Partner with business and consultant leads to establish new purchasing routines, deliver hands-on S/4HANA and Ariba training, and maintain updated process playbooks.
-Validation & Testing: Lead business validation, partnering with internal procurement peers, during mock migrations and testing cycles anticipated in FY27-FY28.
-Leadership Alignment: Synthesize complex process choices into clear, ROI-focused recommendations for governance councils and executive leadership.
Required Skills and Behaviors
-SAP & Ariba Expertise: Deep, hands-on knowledge of SAP procurement configurations, with proven expertise utilizing SAP Ariba and the Supplier Business Network.
-Procurement Transformation/Optimization Track Record: Demonstrated success driving quantifiable process improvements in the procurement cycle, specifically optimizing automation rates, touchless PO execution, or category management..
-Fit-to-Standard Mindset: A strong willingness to embrace future-state S/4HANA processes with minimal customization, protecting the "Clean Core" architecture.
-Strategic Influence: Ability to build credibility, present well-reasoned financial arguments to management, and cross-functionally articulate how procurement metrics impact manufacturing OEE and total margin.
-Coaching & Change Leadership: Proven capability to mentor, train, and guide procurement teams through large-scale technology and cultural shifts.

The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $111,500.00 - $131,200.00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.For remote roles where the final candidate resides in Alaska, California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Oregon or Washington, state required pay thresholds will be factored into base salary.
