WHAT YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH IN THIS ROLE
Under general supervision of the EES Director, the Outreach Coordinator Specialist will assist with one-time special assignments for the Energy and Environmental Services Department programs and activities.
The Outreach Coordinator will provide support on a part-time basis for up to 12 hours per week.
This position is 100% remote.
The rate for this position is $27.00 - $30.00 per hour.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Schedule, conduct or complete assigned tasks such as public, media and agency contacts workshops and presentations, canvassing neighborhoods, mass mailings, client correspondence, and collaborating with city officials for outreach opportunities.
  • Provide marketing support for all programs with brochures and PowerPoint presentation generation.
  • Provide Vietnamese translation services as needed.
  • Assist in the development of internal and external marketing tools such as coloring books.
  • Support departmental activities for outreach and production meetings, document and maintain active calendar for entire team, attend weatherization events, and implement energy action month activities.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE IN
  • Customer service orientation in order to establish rapport with staff, agencies and participants from culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Understanding ethical behavior and business practices and ensure own behavior and the behavior of others are consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization.
  • Working/interfacing with management, co-workers and subcontractors, effectively supervising volunteers if needed.
  • Working a flexible schedule remotely through phone, computer or other communication tools.
  • Performing mathematical skills sufficient to create, compose or compile information and data for reports or presentations.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access), Windows XP, Adobe products including Photoshop; use of portable devices including PC notebook, printer, PowerPoint projector, cell phone, copier and iPads.
  • Communicating effectively in writing and orally with staff, clients and the public-at large to explain program variations and limitations; analyze and interpret contract language; create and/or complete reports; understand and follow program regulations and procedures.
  • Demonstrating a clear, concise and effective command of the English language, both oral and written. If bi-lingual, must be able to translate orally and in writing from/to English and a second language. Fluency in Spanish, Vietnamese or other language is desirable [SP1].
  • Identifying public and private social services agencies and community resources available to meet client needs.
  • Government contracts, application of program rules, regulations, procedures and client eligibility to program operations.
  • Working effectively within demanding time constraints and/or multiple tasks; detailed oriented; accuracy and efficiency in work duties on a consistent basis without assistance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
BA/BS degree with 5 or more years of work experience preferred.
TRAVEL
Possess a valid California Driver's License with a driving record that meets minimum standards established by CAP OC insurance carrier, proof of vehicle insurance, access to a vehicle and willingness to drive/travel when required.
Travel is not part of this job description except between home office and CAP OC headquarters.
