Job Responsibilities
Piedmont Technical College is seeking Part-Time Tutors to build a pool of qualified applicants to support students across a variety of academic areas. Current needs include Math, English, Anatomy and Physiology, Computer Technology, Allied Health, Social Sciences, Humanities, Business, and Accounting. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis and reviewed as tutoring needs arise.
Candidates must be reliable, responsible, patient, and personable, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Tutors should have an above-average understanding of the subject area in which they are assisting in order to effectively support student learning and academic success.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of basic teaching or tutoring techniques, familiarity with academic programs, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma or GED is required. Successful candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting undergraduate education and student success. Excellent customer service and communication skills are also required.
Applicants must submit proof of a high school diploma or GED, or official/unofficial transcripts if a higher degree has been earned.
Preferred Qualifications
An associate degree or higher is preferred, along with prior tutoring experience. Applicants should have successfully completed the subject they wish to tutor with a grade of A or B.
