Trane Technologies has an exciting opportunity to join our Life Science Solutions team as a Site Superintendent. The Site Superintendent is responsible for assisting the Project Manager to assure that the projects are completed and maintain the standard of excellence established by the company and customer. The Site Supervisor primary role is to oversee the field activities of an Engineered Solutions contracting project. These activities include the technical onboarding of subcontractors, guidance of field work, and ongoing progress communication with the contracting team.
They will work closely with the Project Manager to manage and direct our subcontractors, ensuring work performed onsite fulfills the scope of the contract. They will also partner with Field Service Engineers and Remote Support Specialists identifying and rectifying project shortcomings, to ensure we exceed our customers' quality standards. Certain tasks will be assigned by the Project Manager to take the lead on with little oversight. Along with working with the Project Manager, this role may be given opportunity to execute selected projects including managing financials, administration, implementation, and customer satisfaction. The Project Superintendent will ensure that quality standards are maintained across all tasks and projects within the project schedule timeline.
What you will do:
  • Coordinates and oversees job site logistics, daily work activities, day - to - day customer interactions, and progress of all subcontractors.
  • Directs and organizes onsite construction crews (subcontractors) as necessary to meet project milestones and quality. Provide guidance and training Day 1 with installation crews, including installation playbook review, pictures, and quality expectations.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with stakeholders.
  • Review drawings and understand scope and schedules (critical milestones) with the intent of providing feedback and any risks. This includes the scope of the installation contractors.
  • Troubleshoot problems and provide guidance on the corrective actions necessary to resolve technical issues.
  • Identify and correct installation deficiencies with installation contractor and contracting team, as needed. Document deficiencies in daily log, and provide to the Project Manager for potential mitigation.
  • Maintain safety standards onsite, through site safety plan execution.
  • Maintain consistent communication with the Project Manager and contracting team to ensure critical information is transmitted in a timely manner and to limit project delays due to field installation issues. Utilize daily logs to document status, critical conversations and onsite decisions, and punch list items.
  • Perform equipment startup and commissioning for new projects to ensure successful and timely project starts. Includes supervising 3rd validation contractors.

What you will bring:
  • Associate degree or Accredited Apprenticeship in an Engineering Technology such as Refrigeration, HVAC, or Electrical, with 5 years' construction industry OR High School Diploma/GED with 10 years' experience in construction industry, commercial/industrial refrigeration
  • Proficient at reading plans, specifications; familiarity with project schedules, budgets, safety procedures, to ensure adherence to these.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Projects) and SharePoint
  • Travel expectations of 75%
