Job Title: EMR Informaticist
Location: Providence, RI (
Prefers onsite but will consider hybrid, 3 days onsite, 2 remote)

Duration: 24 Months plus

Below is the Job description:

Clinical Informaticist will support the implementation, configuration, optimization, and ongoing support of the hospital’s electronic health record (EHR). This position serves as a liaison between clinical staff and information technology personnel to help ensure that EHR functionality supports clinical workflows, regulatory requirements, and high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and ongoing optimization of the hospital’s EHR across multiple clinical domains

  • Analyze clinical and operational workflows and translate end-user needs into system functionality, configuration requirements, and process improvements

  • Design, build, and maintain clinical documentation tools (e.g., templates, order sets, and clinical decision support) aligned with clinical standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in system testing activities, including unit testing, user acceptance testing, go-live readiness, and post-implementation optimization.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, data quality, and patient care outcomes through workflow redesign and system optimization and providing training and guidance to clinical staff to promote EHR adoption and effective use of the system Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in clinical discipline, Computer Science, Informatics, or a closely related field, required.

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a hospital or healthcare environment, gained through direct clinical practice or clinical informatics, health IT, or clinical systems support roles.

  • Experience working with EHR platforms such as WellSky, Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or other enterprise healthcare systems.

  • Direct clinical practice experience (e.g., nursing, laboratory, pharmacy, radiology), preferred but not required.

  • Certification or advanced education in health or clinical informatics is preferred and may substitute for clinical experience.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of clinical workflows and healthcare operations.

  • Familiarity with clinical device integration workflows (e.g., IV pumps, bedside monitoring devices) and their interaction with the EHR, including supporting clinical workflows, documentation, and issue triage in collaboration with technical teams.
