Cloud Platform Architect for Trader Interactive LLC.

  • Position will primarily telecommute but reports to/requires occasional presence in Virginia Beach, VA HQ office.

  • Recommend adjustments to resolve software issues, improve functionality/performance of existing software, & ensure that the design, application, & maintenance of software, cloud applications, hardware, & security meet quality standards.

  • Act as technical consultant to a wide range of departments.

  • Design cloud environments with focus on AWS & demonstrate technical cloud architectural knowledge, playing a vital role in the design of production, staging, QA, and development of cloud infrastructure running in high availability environments.

  • Implement required systems, solutions, & processes needed to manage cloud security, cost, monitoring, scalability, & redundancy are accounted for & continuously validated.

  • Provide training to other engineers. Maintain, upgrade existing software. Recommend new technologies that can help increase productivity.

  • Supervise & oversee technical aspects of projects as needed. Investigate software-related complaints & make adjustments to ensure optimal software performance.

  • Collaborate across teams/departments to discuss projects, brainstorm ideas, & put forward solutions to any issues.

  • Evaluate the user’s needs, time limitations, & system limitations when developing software.

  • Job involves prolonged periods sitting at a desk & working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift 15 lbs. On call 1 week/month (average on call time 4 hours per week or less).

  • May undergo background checks. Requires communication skills.

  • Little national travel may be involved, and limited international travel possible, to team onsites & conferences.

  • Travel not to exceed 60 days/year; length of single trip not to exceed 5 days.

  • Wage: $147,493 to $190,000.

  • Must have Bachelor’s in Comp Sci, rel Engineering, or related field, and 9 years relevant exp in an engineering role.

  • Also reqs the following skills (9 years exp) in: Cloud Architecture, Security Engineering, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering; working through entire software development lifecycle; programming language (C++, Java or Scala); working within hardware, systems and coding; troubleshooting software issues and debugging large databases.
