As a payroll service bureau, we provide comprehensive payroll and tax service solutions to our clients. The Tax Analyst plays a key role in delivering exceptional support to clients and internal teams. The role entails a detailed-oriented and motivated Tax Analyst to join our Payroll Tax team who will ensure federal, state, and local payroll tax compliance, process accurate filings, research and resolve tax issues, and provide exceptional support to clients and internal teams. You'll partner closely with Payroll, Implementation, Treasury, and Client Services to maintain compliance and deliver a seamless client experience.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Compliance & Account Management

  • Create and update employer tax accounts across federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Verify correct tax setup (filing frequency, payment methods, tax rates, registration IDs).
  • Prepare and manage Federal and State Power of Attorney forms.
  • Complete TPA registrations with agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state tax requirements.
  • Process daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tax deposits (ACH/check).
  • Prepare, reconcile, and file quarterly and annual payroll tax returns.
  • Maintain client tax settings (earnings, deductions, accruals, memo codes, etc.).

Tax Operations

  • Process and document all daily tax deposits.
  • Review transactions for accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Perform second‑review checks for SOC compliance requirements.
  • Investigate, document, and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Tax Research & Issue Resolution

  • Conduct tax research related to filings and account requirements.
  • Review and resolve payroll tax notices from federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Support data conversions and balancing during onboarding.
  • Escalate complex issues to Leads or Management as needed.

Client & Internal Collaboration

  • Communicate with client payroll contacts regarding tax setup, notices, and updates.
  • Collaborate with Payroll and Implementation Specialists to maintain accurate client accounts.
  • Support special projects and department initiatives.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.

Skills & Qualifications Required
