About the Role

Latitude IT Solutions is seeking a Maintenance Technical Director to own the technical health and lifecycle management of a VA health IT platform built on AWS GovCloud, hosting a large portfolio of production services across Kubernetes environments. You own all planned maintenance, patch management, software lifecycle tracking, and the Platform Dependency List.

What You'll Do
  • Own and maintain the Platform Dependency List — a living inventory of all platform services, versions, EOL timelines, and integration dependencies
  • Direct all platform maintenance windows and change requests through ServiceNow CCB
  • Lead patch prioritization across AWS managed services (RDS, DocumentDB, ElastiCache, MSK) and EC2-based services (MongoDB, Vault, Consul, Atlassian, Nexus)
  • Track and remediate software components approaching EOL or carrying critical CVEs; coordinate POA&M entries with the RMF/Security Manager
  • Author and maintain the Maintenance Plan deliverable within the required post-award window
  • Enforce maintenance SLA windows ensuring maintenance activity does not impact business-hour availability
  • Partner with the Senior Architect on architecture change reviews
What You Bring
  • 8+ years of federal IT infrastructure or platform engineering
  • Deep hands-on AWS experience: EKS, RDS, MSK/Kafka, ElastiCache, DocumentDB, EFS, S3
  • EC2-based enterprise middleware experience: MongoDB, HashiCorp Vault & Consul, Atlassian, Nexus
  • Kubernetes lifecycle management: node upgrades, namespace governance, cluster version management
  • Federal IT change management experience (ServiceNow CCB or equivalent)
  • Active Dept of Veteran Affairs PIV credentials
Preferred
  • Direct VA OIT / VAEC experience
  • AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
  • Istio lifecycle management experience
