As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, your responsibilities will include a variety of essential tasks designed to support the mental health of students:

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to understand individual client needs, followed by the development of personalized treatment plans using best practices and solution-focused interventions.
• Provide a range of therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and other evidence-based modalities tailored to the unique situations of each student.
• Maintain meticulous and timely clinical documentation to comply with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to relevant standards.
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with other professionals, including teachers, school psychologists, and external healthcare providers, to provide well-rounded support to students.
• Regularly participate in case consultations and peer review meetings aimed at enhancing the quality of care and ensuring cohesive treatment strategies.
• Educate and support students and their families regarding mental health issues, available treatment options, and outreach to community resources.
• Keep current with ongoing research and evolving best practices in mental health care, integrating this knowledge into your therapeutic approach.

The patient population for this role primarily consists of students ranging from elementary to high school. You will work closely with young individuals who may be facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and trauma. By employing evidence-based therapeutic techniques, you will facilitate their emotional and psychological well-being, empowering them to reach their academic and personal potential.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• A valid license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California.
• A minimum of three years of experience providing psychotherapy in clinical settings, preferably within school systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in solution-focused psychotherapy techniques and a strong therapeutic rapport with students.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with students, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective problem-solving strategies.
• Experience working collaboratively within a supportive team-oriented environment.

• Previous experience in school-based mental health settings or experience working with children and adolescents is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of special education services, 504 plans, and IEP frameworks is advantageous.
• Familiarity with community mental health resources and referral networks will benefit your capacity to support students comprehensively.
