Job description

The Geologist/Hydrogeologistrole istasked with basic foundational work in the fields of geology and hydrogeology. Thisroleprincipally involves carrying out routine tasks, solving elementary problems, and learning and applyingfundamentalskills and knowledge in geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, and geophysics. The role is carried out under the close supervision and guidance of experienced colleagues and supervisors. 

Responsibilities 

  • Assistin field investigations, including water and soil sampling. 
  • Assistwith basic well loggingandfielddata collectiontasks in a supervised setting. 
  • Help in the examination and interpretation of geological, hydrogeological, geophysical,and geochemical data. 
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures related to the role. 
  • Maintain and update data logs of all performed tasks. 
  • Flexibility to adapt and execute variousadditionalassignments based on evolving needs. 

Skills and Competencies 

  • Basic understanding of geology, hydrogeology, geophysics, and geochemistry. 
  • Proficiencyin using sampling equipment. 
  • Basicanalytical skills to interpret geological data and information. 
  • Basicproficiencyin using software and tools associated with geological studies. 

Experience 

  • Typically,a minimum of0-2yearsofrelatedwork experienceingeologyandhydrogeologyorrelated field. 
  • Encouraged tocertify inthe SMS framework in the first six months of being in the role. 

Education 

  • A bachelor’s degree ingeology,hydrogeology, or related field, or equivalent experience isrequired. 

Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.  These ranges may be modified in the future.  

Location A: $59,000 - $79,000
Location B: $64,000 - $87,000
Location C: $70,000 - $95,000
