Job description

Sales Development Student Intern

Student Sales Development Intern (Year-Round)

Location: Remote

Schedule: Part-time, ~10 hours/week to start

Eligibility: College juniors, seniors, or graduate students

About Yogapalooza

Yogapalooza is a joyful early childhood enrichment program built on original music, movement, and simple daily routines that help children and teachers thrive. Through short, engaging practices embedded into the school day, Yogapalooza helps classrooms create a Culture of Calm—supporting self-regulation, smoother transitions, physical development, and teacher well-being.

Founded by nationally recognized children's music and mindfulness leader Bari Koral, Yogapalooza has spent more than 30 years helping educators bring joyful movement and calm into early learning environments. Our songs and tools are already used in thousands of classrooms and trusted by organizations including Head Start, edWeb, Kaplan, Frog Street, Discovery Source, Lightbridge Childcare Franchise, and Sesame Street.

We are a small, entrepreneurial team working to support teachers and children through practical tools that fit into real classrooms. Calm children. Happy teachers. Peaceful parents.

The Opportunity

This is not a typical internship. At Yogapalooza, you won't be watching from the sidelines—you'll be helping us grow a mission-driven organization that supports teachers and children across the country.

We are looking for a friendly, confident, and curious communicator who isn't afraid to pick up the phone and start real conversations. Your primary role will be outbound calling and outreach to earlylearning leaders, introducing them to Yogapalooza and helping schedule short conversations with our founder, Bari Koral.

Many educators already know Yogapalooza songs like Silly to Calm—your job is to help turn that recognition into meaningful connections. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn how sales, relationship-building, and early-stage growth actually work inside a small entrepreneurial team.

You'll build real skills in:

  • Starting conversations with decision-makers
  • Communicating value clearly and confidently
  • Managing outreach and sales pipelines
  • Learning how mission-driven companies grow

If you're the kind of person who enjoys talking to people, learning quickly, and being part of something meaningful, this role can give you real experience—not just internship tasks. You'll work directly with our leadership team, receive coaching along the way, and gain exposure to the early childhood education world while helping bring tools that support both teachers and children at the same time.

What You'll Do

  • Email Outreach: Send personalized follow-up emails to reinforce conversations and introduce Yogapalooza resources.
  • Outbound Calling: Make outbound calls to early childhood programs, school districts, and education leaders.
  • Introduce Yogapalooza and schedule brief introductory conversations with leadership (we'll take it from there).
  • Pipeline & CRM Management: Track outreach activity and conversations in our CRM.
  • Keep organized notes and help maintain a clean sales pipeline.
  • Sales Learning & Collaboration: Work directly with the Yogapalooza leadership team to learn about sales strategy and messaging.
  • Participate in weekly check-ins to review outreach progress and refine approach.

Who This Role Is For

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Is comfortable speaking with new people on the phone
  • Wants hands-on experience in sales, startups, or entrepreneurship
  • Is curious about education, wellness, or social impact
  • Enjoys building relationships and helping connect people to meaningful solutions

Qualifications

  • Current college junior, senior, or graduate student
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, confident phone presence
  • Comfortable making outbound calls and starting conversations
  • Strong 21st-century computer skills
  • Organized and able to manage multiple outreach tasks
  • Self-motivated and reliable in a remote environment
  • Positive, energetic, and coachable

Bonus (not required):

  • Previous experience in sales, fundraising, recruiting, or outreach
  • Experience with CRM tools such as HubSpot or Salesforce
  • Interest in early childhood education, mental health, or well-being

Why Join Yogapalooza?

This internship offers real startup experience and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a mission-driven organization. At Yogapalooza, you'll bolster your CV and:

  • Build real sales and communication skills
  • Gain confidence in outbound outreach and relationship-building
  • Work closely with a founder-led team, learning how mission-driven organizations grow
  • Help bring tools that support teachers and children at the same time

Most importantly, you'll help introduce educators to resources that make classrooms calmer, transitions smoother, and teachers feel more supported throughout the day.
