Rockwell Wellness Clinic is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team in a full-time remote position. This exciting role entails providing intensive in-community therapeutic services to children with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges across Laredo, Texas. You will be an integral part of a Child Family Treatment Team, working closely with other specialists to create impactful therapeutic outcomes for children facing unique challenges.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Rockwell Wellness Clinic, your principal duties will include:

• Conducting individual therapy sessions in-home or providing group therapy at our outpatient center, tailored to each child’s unique needs.
• Facilitating workshops and sessions that equip children with anger management, coping strategies, and social skills while working to reduce high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behaviors and physical aggression.
• Improving decision-making skills for both youth and caretakers to effectively handle in-home behavioral challenges.
• Maintaining consistent and effective collaboration with the Child Family Treatment Team, alongside professionals from other disciplines to ensure a holistic approach to therapy.
• Documenting all required patient-related information, including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes within designated time frames.
• Participating in monthly team meetings to share insights and submit recommendations based on observed progress and challenges.

This position is centered on supporting children and teens aged 3 to 20 who have developmental and intellectual disabilities. Your work will target various identified needs, ensuring that each child receives personalized care. Engaging with diverse populations, your therapeutic approach will also involve educating and empowering family members, thereby creating a supportive network around each child.

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Possess a Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field.
• Hold an active and unrestricted LMFT license.
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, particularly during after-school hours (4 PM – 7 PM), with weekend availability being highly advantageous.

We would prefer candidates who have:

• Experience in providing positive behavior support to young individuals.
• Previous experience working with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• A valid driver’s license and a registered vehicle for travel to client homes.
• Successfully passed a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
