Position: Workplace Investigator
Location: Remote
Pay Rate: $60/hr
Duration: 3 months, with potential for extension
This role supports workplace investigations across U.S. corporate restaurant locations and involves handling cases from initial complaint through final investigation report. The ideal candidate will have strong experience conducting interviews, gathering evidence, documenting findings, and managing investigations of varying complexity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review incoming workplace misconduct complaints and develop investigation plans.
- Conduct investigations from start to finish, including interviews with complainants, witnesses, involved parties, and subjects.
- Investigate allegations involving discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, retaliation, workplace violence, and other workplace misconduct.
- Collect, review, and analyze evidence including internal systems, text messages, documents, and video footage.
- Prepare thorough and well-documented investigation reports.
- Manage multiple active investigations simultaneously, with an average caseload of approximately 15 investigations.
- Handle both straightforward and highly complex cases involving multiple allegations and respondents.
- Partner with HR, Legal, leadership, and other stakeholders throughout the investigation process.
- Maintain strong documentation and ensure investigations are conducted consistently and professionally.
- Identify trends and actionable insights that can help mitigate workplace risks and improve processes.
- Build trusted relationships with employees and stakeholders across different organizational levels.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience conducting workplace, HR, employment/legal, or security investigations.
- Hands-on experience investigating discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, retaliation, and/or workplace violence.
- Demonstrated ability to manage investigations independently from intake through resolution.
- Strong interviewing, evidence-gathering, documentation, and report-writing skills.
- Experience handling both simple and complex investigations.
- Ability to manage multiple investigations and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience supporting restaurant, retail, or other large frontline workforces is highly preferred.
- Previous McDonald's experience is a plus.
- ServiceNow experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
