Chaplain Resident

Location: UCHealth Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion, Aurora CO

Department: Spiritual Care Services

Work Schedule: Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)  

Shift: Days 

Pay: 24.11 - 36.17 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option.

This Chaplain Resident program runs from August 31, 2026 - August 20, 2027. 

Summary:
Under the supervision of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) CPE Supervisor and mentors, assists with providing spiritual care to patients, their family members and organizational staff and participates in the CPE program.

Responsibilities:
Performs or assists with performing spiritual visitation, worship services and outreach.
Assists with assessing and responding to the spiritual, emotional and cultural needs of those counseled, including crisis intervention and bereavement.
Participates in and meets the requirements of the CPE Center curriculum.
Documents visits and interventions appropriately according to the standards of the healthcare organization.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Ordained or in the process of ordination or member of a religious vocation and have denominational endorsement. 
  • Completion of the CPE application process and accepted into the Center CPE program.
  • Completion of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) CPE Level I or equivalent.
