About The Position:

The Field Mortgage Consultant is responsible for originating mortgage loans for eligible borrowers in the State of Nevada and developing business through effective outside sales. The Field Mortgage Consultant must maintain a mortgage agent license through the State of Nevada Mortgage Lending Division and Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Knowledge of mortgage products and programs to effectively guide and educate clients on the home-buying process.
  • The Field Mortgage Consultant originates mortgage loans for members and non-members of the credit union.
  • Produce an appropriate amount of quality work as defined by the Production Schedule and performance standards.
  • Takes loan applications, conducts preliminary underwriting reviews, and submits applications to processing and underwriting for approval.
  • Collect required documentation (income, assets, credit, disclosures).
  • Pre-qualify and pre-approve borrowers based on credit, income, and assets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless and timely loan processing.
  • Develop and execute a personal business plan to achieve performance standards.
  • Participate in community events and marketing activities.
  • Build and maintain long-term client and referral relationships (realtors, builders, CPAs, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Active and current NMLS License and in good standing required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in sales or sales support roles within the mortgage industry required.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage industry regulations, including RESPA, ECOA, HMDA, Truth-In-Lending, FCRA, HVCC, ECOA, and SAFE Actrequired.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of your job, you may regularly be required to sit and use a keyboard, multiple monitors, mouse, and telephone (including repetitive motions with hands, fingers, arms, etc.) for extended periods of time. You may also frequently be required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms, bend, and kneel.
