CodeStream Studios provides turnkey technology education resources and engaging, project-based content that help K-12 and alternative students cultivate critical and analytical thinking skills, apply creative problem solving, build confidence, improve college-readiness, and develop marketable skill sets.

We’re seeking passionate individuals with a strong background in both computer coding and teaching to join our team as a Coding Instructor to help us provide engaging educational experiences that inspire students to learn, code, and create.

Virtual
e-Lab + Live Tutoring (virtual office hours) 
Our e-Lab program is a distance learning experience where students have the opportunity to asynchronously complete a course while having support from CodeStream instructors in scheduled weekly e-Lab tutoring sessions.
 

As a Coding Instructor, you'll...
  • Deliver live in-person and virtual instruction using CodeStream Studios' curriculum on the CSOS (CodeStream Online Studio) IDE learning platform with assets, tools, and resources.
  • Interact with students in a professional manner, offering constructive, encouraging, and timely communication
  • Act as a Student Experience Advocate, working to ensure a fun, enjoyable, and positive learning environment and successful outcomes for every student
  • Plan and execute relevant supplemental educational activities that support the assigned curriculum and learning objectives
  • Provide individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning
  • Encourage complex thinking, participation, and discussion
  • Monitor, address, and report on student attendance and behavior
  • Regularly assess, evaluate, and report on student progress
  • Learn and develop your domain knowledge across our entire catalog
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for product improvement
  • Participate in planning and development meetings
  • Collaborate with clients, internal teams, and other instructors

About You

You'll thrive as a Coding Instructor if you have:

  • Recent teaching experience in computer science / coding in either a formal or informal setting
  • Web, Game or App Development experience using HTML/CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS, Python, Java 
  • Computer Coding experience in one or more general purpose programming languages, including, but not limited to: Python, C#, Swift, Kotlin, Javascript, etc.
  • Hands-on experience teaching cybersecurity and mentoring students in immersive cyber environments where they develop practical skills using industry-standard tools and methodologies, including firewalls, antivirus solutions, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, and EDR technologies.

  • Exceptional English communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.

  • Familiarity with current industry trends and best practices, and you’re comfortable using them to frame concepts to beginners
  • Comfortability with communication and collaboration tools like: Google Docs, Gmail, Slack, Notion, Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.
  • An openness to change and a willingness to experiment with formats, platforms and approaches.
  • A team player mindset, willing to jump into any aspect of a project to fill a vacuum, no matter how big or small.
  • Intellectual curiosity and an enthusiasm for problem solving
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with an eye for detail
  • A desire to learn and grow, and have the work ethic to follow through on your ambitions
  • The ability to work an assigned schedule and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
You'll stand out as a candidate if you have:
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science and/or Education
  • Professional experience in education as a Certified Teacher
  • Professional experience in computer coding as a software engineer or developer
  • Experience working in a startup or non-profit environment
  • Experience working in a remote environment
