Duck Creek Solution Architect

Location: Milwaukee, WI (Preferred Hybrid – Onsite) or Remote

We are seeking a seasoned Duck Creek Solution Architect to lead end-to-end architecture design and delivery of Duck Creek based solutions across Policy, Billing, and Claims for P&C carriers. You will own the target architecture guide implementation teams and ensure solutions meet business outcomes for scalability, performance, security, and regulatory compliance in the US insurance market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architecture Ownership: Define target and interim architectures for Duck Creek Policy, Billing, and Claims, govern solution integrity across discovery, design, build, and go live.
  • Requirements Road mapping: Translate business LOB needs into scalable solution blueprints, integration designs, data models, and product configuration strategies.
  • Platform Expertise: Lead configuration and extensions using Duck Creek tools, author Forms, Templates Anywhere, APIs, Producer codes, Rating, Product Studio, ensuring upgrade safe patterns.
  • Integration Data Design: APIs and event flows, oversee data migration, archival, and reporting architectures, operational data stores, EDW downstream analytics.
  • Nonfunctional Excellence: Establish performance, availability, resiliency, and DR patterns, caching, throttling, async processing, autoscaling, blue green canary.
  • Cloud DevOps: Define CICD pipelines, environment strategy, infrastructure as code, and observability for cloud native deployments Azure, AWS.
  • Security Compliance: Ensure SOC2, ISO27001 controls, privacy, and regulatory alignment e.g., state DOI rules, UET AeSignature, PCI for payments.
  • Delivery Leadership: Provide technical leadership to engineer’s configuration specialists, BAQA, review estimates, design docs, and code config, remove delivery risks.
  • Stakeholder Management: Partner with business leaders, underwriting, claims ops, product owners, and vendor teams, run architecture reviews and exec level updates.
  • Standards Reuse: Establish reference architectures, reusable accelerators, best practices, and guardrails for multiprogram scale.
  • Change Release: Govern release readiness, cutover strategies, hyper care, and post go live optimization.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: 15 years in enterprise software with 8 years designing and delivering Duck Creek solutions Policy, Billing, Claims for P&C carriers in the USA.
  • Platform Depth: Hands-on with Duck Creek Author, Product, Rating, Forms, Templates Anywhere, APIs, Pascal, TCF, batch, and document services, and upgrade strategies.
  • Insurance Domain: Strong knowledge of US PC products Personal Auto, Homeowners, Umbrella, Commercial Auto, GL, BOP, Property rating, ISO filings, endorsements, compliance, and bureau updates.
  • Architecture Skills: Proven track record with microservices, API led integration, event driven designs, 12factor apps, and domain driven design.
  • Cloud DevOps Production: Experience on Azure and/or AWS infrastructure as code, ARM, Bicep, Terraform, containerization, Docker, Kubernetes, CICD, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and observability App Insights, CloudWatch, ELK.
