Job Description:
Job Summary
Coordinates scheduling, manages correspondence, and maintains accurate records. Assists in daily office operations to ensure efficient workflow. Provides customer service to patients, staff, and visitors. Ensures confidentiality and compliance with organizational policies.
Essential Functions
• Supports staff in the Rehab Services Department, including Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy.
• Performs receptionist and clerical duties for department staff.
• Handles confidential information with discretion.
• Registers and pre-registers patients for scheduled evaluation appointments and monthly account cycling.
• Schedules outpatient therapy appointments for new evaluations and follow-up visits.
• Maintains and updates patient medical records, including therapy orders, plans of care, and insurance information.
• Distributes and tracks therapy plans of care for provider signatures and follows up as required.
• Makes appointment reminder calls according to department protocols.
• Obtains pre-authorizations and pre-certifications for therapy services as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirement
High school diploma or equivalent experience
Experience Requirement
2-3 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
All experience must be paid and in the same related field.
Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.
Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
