What is remote editing?

Remote editing is the process of reviewing, proofreading, and revising written content from a location outside of a traditional office, usually performed online. Remote editors work with various types of documents—such as articles, books, academic papers, and marketing materials—ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency. This role often involves collaborating with writers and clients via email, cloud-based platforms, or specialized editing software. Remote editors must have strong language skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage their time independently.

What are some common challenges remote editors face, and how can they overcome them?

Remote editors often encounter challenges such as maintaining clear communication with writers and other team members, managing time across different time zones, and ensuring consistent editorial standards without in-person oversight. To overcome these, it's important to establish regular check-ins, use collaborative editing tools, and set clear expectations for turnaround times and feedback. Staying organized and proactive in communication can help ensure projects stay on track and editorial quality remains high.

Remote editing can help you earn a substantial income if you build a strong portfolio, develop specialized skills, and secure high-paying clients or contracts. Outstanding time management, self-motivation, and clear communication are crucial soft skills for remote collaboration and meeting deadlines. These skills ensure high-quality, consistent editing work and effective teamwork, even in a virtual environment.

Social Media Strategist - Founder Ecosystem (Remote)

Rare Necessity Digital Agency

Full-time, Part-time

Job description

Social Media Strategist - Founder Ecosystem

Part-Time to Full-Time | Contract | Atlanta Preferred (Remote Considered)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're hiring a Social Media Strategist to own the content engine across a multi-brand ecosystem built around a founder-led agency. This is not a "schedule posts and check a box" role. You'll manage content strategy and execution across four interconnected brands, each with a different voice, audience, and purpose.

The brands:

  • A personal founder page (thought leadership, behind-the-scenes, lifestyle)
  • A full-service digital agency (B2B, case studies, authority content)
  • An entrepreneur interview podcast (clips, promos, guest content, episode marketing)
  • A marketing education brand (tutorials, frameworks, short-form teaching content)

You need to understand why content works, not just how to post it. If you don't know what a funnel is, what a launch looks like, or how content drives revenue, this isn't the role.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Own the content calendar across all four brands, coordinating with launches, campaigns, and business priorities
  • Script, create, and edit short-form video content (Reels, TikTok, Shorts) for each brand voice
  • Come to in-person recording sessions in Atlanta to capture and produce content batches
  • Repurpose podcast episodes and long-form content into platform-native clips
  • Write captions and copy that match each brand's tone. No misspelled words, no lazy captions, no generic hooks
  • Track performance and adjust strategy based on what's actually working, not just what looks good
  • Collaborate directly with the founder and production team on content direction
  • Maintain brand consistency across platforms while adapting to each brand's audience

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 3+ years managing social media with real results (follower growth, engagement rates, content that drove business outcomes)
  • Experience with founder-led or personal brand content, not just corporate accounts
  • Understanding of marketing fundamentals: funnels, launches, lead generation, audience building
  • Strong short-form video skills: filming, editing, scripting, pacing
  • Eye for detail and quality. You catch mistakes before they go out
  • Tools: Canva, CapCut or Premiere Pro, scheduling platforms, basic analytics
  • Atlanta-based or willing to travel for monthly recording sessions
  • Bonus: experience with podcast content marketing, webinar promotion, or multi-brand management

THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR YOU IF:

  • You think social media management is just scheduling posts
  • You've only worked on one brand or one industry
  • You can't explain why a piece of content performed well or didn't
  • You need to be told what to post every day

TO APPLY

Send your resume and links to 2-3 accounts you've managed (with context on what you did and the results). If you have your own page with real engagement, include that too.
