Data Engineer

About the Role

We are working with a client seeking a skilled Data Engineer for a full-time, direct hire opportunity. This is a fully remote position open to candidates across the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes
  • Develop and manage data warehouses, data lakes, and data infrastructure
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand and support data needs
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and availability across all pipelines and systems
  • Optimize data workflows for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
  • Implement data governance and security best practices
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline failures and performance issues
  • Document data architecture, pipelines, and processes thoroughly

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a data engineering role
  • Proficiency with Python or Scala for data pipeline development
  • Strong experience with SQL and relational databases
  • Hands-on experience with data pipeline tools such as Apache Spark, Airflow, Kafka, or similar
  • Experience with cloud data platforms — AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery, or Snowflake
  • Familiarity with data modeling concepts and best practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and documentation habits

  • Experience with dbt for data transformation

Compensation

$110,000 — $150,000 base salary depending on experience. Full benefits package available.
