Job description

Sales Development Representative Intern (SDR Intern)
*Company located in Pleasant Grove, UT - This is a hybrid, local-Utah opportunity. Employees work 2-3 days in our Pleasant Grove office and the remaining days from home; this is not a remote or contract opportunity.
What we are actually looking for: Let's get right down to it - you're the right Sales Development Representative (SDR) Intern for Disruptive Advertising if you love picking up the phone, connecting with people, and figuring out what makes a business tick. You get a kick out of a good conversation, you're not afraid of a "no," and you're hungry to learn what it actually takes to build a sales pipeline from scratch. If the thought of jumping into a fast-paced sales floor, learning directly from experienced Account Executives, and being surrounded by peers who take their craft seriously excites you, read on.
Why would you be so excited to start your sales career at Disruptive? Because Disruptive is already an industry-leading performance marketing agency that does meaningful work and drives real value for clients. We prioritize working with purpose-driven brands and all-around good people, and we invest heavily in the growth of everyone on our team - interns included.
Are you really looking for another internship where you shadow people and fetch coffee? Didn't think so. You're the type of person who wants real reps, real accountability, and real feedback - not busywork. You'll love participating in our personal development culture at Disruptive as you build the foundation of a sales career.
We're not like other agencies (or other internships) that cap the growth of their people. Instead, we bring interns onto our sales team to give them a genuine shot at accelerating their career and unlocking their potential early. Employees have even said, "1 year of experience at Disruptive is comparable to 3 years anywhere else."
And, because you probably want more details, you can dive into those below, even though you already know if you are the right person or not from these first few paragraphs ;) ...
The Role: Sales Development Representative (SDR) Intern - as the first point of contact between Disruptive Advertising (DA) and prospective clients, our SDR Intern plays a critical role in building the pipeline that fuels our sales team's success. As a B2B sales role you'll spend your days on the phone with new leads, working to understand their business and determine whether they're a fit for DA's services. You'll enjoy the fast pace of the job as well as the opportunity to sharpen your communication skills as you qualify leads, follow up persistently, and prospect for new outbound opportunities, all while learning directly from a team of experienced sales professionals.
As SDR Intern, you will receive:
  • Pay: $15.62/hour + commission
  • Flexible hybrid work schedule - 2-3 days per week in our Pleasant Grove, UT office, with the remaining days remote. Willing to work around your school schedule.
  • Hands-on coaching and mentorship from our sales leadership and Account Executive team
  • Real, measurable sales experience at an award-winning performance marketing agency

As SDR Intern, you will:
  • Call inbound leads and engage them in conversation to introduce Disruptive Advertising's services
  • Qualify inbound leads by understanding their business needs, budget, and timeline
  • Follow up consistently and persistently with leads throughout the sales cycle
  • Conduct outbound prospecting to build and maintain a healthy pipeline
  • Accurately log calls, notes, and lead status in our CRM
  • Partner closely with the sales team to hand off qualified opportunities

What you need to be SDR Intern:
  • Strong verbal communication skills and genuine comfort talking on the phone
  • A self-starter mindset - coachable, resilient, and not discouraged by rejection
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage and prioritize a pipeline of leads
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree, or equivalent practical experience
  • Based in Utah and able to work hybrid out of our Pleasant Grove office 2-3 days per week
  • Prior sales, customer service, or outbound calling experience is a plus, but not required

We are Disruptive: (https://disruptiveadvertising.com/, https://www.disruptiveuniversity.com/) Our vision is to create an environment where we can empower marketers to be authentic and experience transformative breakthroughs in their personal lives, careers, and communities; in order to do this, we are building the best performance marketing agency at delivering growth opportunities for our people and amazing business results for our clients.
At Disruptive Advertising, we believe in equipping our team with tools for meaningful growth, both professionally and personally. That's why interns get exposure to our flagship authenticity program, Disruptive University - a transformational journey meticulously developed by our CEO, who invested over a decade and $500,000+ to bring DU to life.
What to Expect:
  • Interactive Learning: Engage in a series of immersive courses designed to enhance your personal and professional growth.

Core Values:
  • Authentic - We live in alignment with our strengths, values, and unique abilities.
  • Inside Out - We focus on what we can control and don't waste time worrying about what we can't. We lead with what we can improve and do better, not with what others should change.
