Job description

Company Overview

Our client is a growing U.S.-based finance operations and advisory firm that supports founders, CEOs, and CFOs with core finance execution, reporting, forecasting, bookkeeping, and tax/compliance workflows.

The company is founder-led, lean, and distributed. As the business grows, they need someone who can bring more structure to how work gets done — without slowing the team down with unnecessary bureaucracy.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who has operated in startups, enjoys building systems from scratch, and wants a role with a potential path toward broader COO-style ownership.

Your Role

We’re hiring an Operations Manager with the scope of a future Head of Operations / COO-style leader to professionalize and scale internal operations across service delivery, team execution, and client workflows.

This is not a narrow operations role. It’s a hands-on, cross-functional, “whatever it takes” role for someone who can build the system, run the system, and jump into the work when needed.

You’ll own business operations, service delivery operations, process improvement, workflow optimization, SOPs, dashboards, operating rhythms, and accountability loops that allow a lean finance and accounting services team to deliver consistently as client volume grows.

If you’ve worked in startups, built structure in ambiguous environments, owned messy operational problems end-to-end, or even started a company yourself, this role should feel familiar.

You’ll:
  • Build a clear operating picture of how work flows today across people, tools, handoffs, deadlines, and bottlenecks

  • Design and implement lightweight operating rhythms: weekly priorities, check-ins, escalation paths, follow-up systems, and delivery tracking

  • Standardize service delivery workflows across intake, execution, review, and client delivery

  • Create SOPs, checklists, templates, dashboards, and internal documentation that reduce rework and make execution more consistent

  • Improve client onboarding and recurring touchpoints so delivery feels proactive, organized, and reliable

  • Partner directly with the founder and functional leads to prioritize, unblock, and drive execution

  • Use AI tools to draft, summarize, analyze, document, automate, and make internal workflows more efficient

  • Step into cross-functional needs when required — operations, support, sales, marketing, process/product improvements, and internal coordination

  • Help the company scale without relying on founder heroics or ad-hoc coordination

You Bring:
  • Strong startup experience — ideally as a founder, startup operator, early operator, operations leader, Head of Operations, General Manager, or someone who has helped scale a fast-moving business

  • A clear preference for building and doing, not just advising or strategizing

  • Experience turning messy workflows into repeatable systems, SOPs, dashboards, operating rhythms, workflow optimization, and accountability structures

  • Strong accounting operations, finance operations, tax, or professional services exposure

  • Excellent written and spoken English, with clear async communication

  • High ownership, strong follow-through, and low ego — you notice what’s broken and take initiative to fix it

  • Strong judgment and ability to prioritize under deadlines

  • Comfort working directly with founders or senior leaders in a lean environment

  • AI proficiency — you actively use AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar to improve speed, quality, and leverage in your work

Bonus Points:
  • You’ve founded a company, raised money, or worked through the challenges of building a startup

  • You have accounting education from a top LATAM university or advanced accounting studies

  • You currently run or have run an accounting, finance, tax, or advisory firm

  • You’ve worked in a high-growth startup, venture-backed company, or founder-led services business

  • You’ve supported distributed teams across time zones

  • You’re familiar with tools like Notion, Google Workspace, Slack, Asana, Jira, ClickUp, or similar systems

What’s Offered:
  • Remote role with LATAM strongly preferred

  • Full-time contractor opportunity

  • Competitive USD compensation based on experience and fit

  • Direct partnership with the founder / managing director

  • High-autonomy role with real influence over how the business operates

  • Opportunity to build the operating foundation of a growing services company

  • Potential path toward broader COO-style ownership as the company scales

Who This Role Is For

This role is for someone who wants ownership, ambiguity, and impact.

You’ll be a fit if you like building systems, driving accountability, improving execution, and working close to the business. You should be comfortable moving between strategic thinking and hands-on execution — from designing the operating model to fixing the tracker, cleaning up a process, or jumping into a workflow that needs attention.

You may not be a fit if you prefer big-company structure, narrow scope, slow decision-making, or strategy-only work without execution ownership.
