THE ROLE:

FloSports is looking for a Live Events Producer to join our Production team. A FloSports Producer is on the front lines creating our most valuable product and the ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, talented, highly-technical live broadcast professional with a passion for providing high-quality live event coverage. This role will lead setup and execution in the field, and excel in handling the curveballs that come from live sports production. The Producer will develop the rundown, oversee pre-planning, prep the crew and commentary team with the storylines and coverage plan, and ensure our equipment inventory is received and returned in working order. You’ll think quickly on your feet and adapt to the live story being told. You are the eyes and ears of our customer. This position is a road-warrior requiring an ability to travel up to 80% and work evenings/weekends/holidays.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Travel regularly around the country to produce broadcasts for various events including wrestling, grappling, track & field, marching band, cheerleading, football, basketball, softball, and baseball among others. International travel is also a possibility.

  • Work closely with internal departments and external partners to coordinate broadcast needs.

  • Work closely with and help manage production team personnel, including event directors, producers, on-air talent, editors, graphics designers and operators, scoring systems personnel.

  • Ready to step into multiple roles depending on the show execution

  • Identify and share best practices. Create and maintain rundowns and tech books.

  • Participate in and organize an efficient technical setup and tear down.

  • Perform thorough inventory checks both before and after each show.

  • Take ownership of production quality and help to drive improvements.

  • Fully invested in every stage of the production process, from pre-production, the live broadcast, post-event review and event recaps.

  • Manage production planning details through a task tracker, schedules, establish timelines and create event documentation, including tech books.

  • Troubleshoot technology issues and production problems logically, calmly and efficiently. Escalate issues as needed.

  • Take ownership of production quality and help to drive improvements

  • Build and maintain relationships with partners, vendors, crew, and other event stakeholders.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Familiarity with on-site, remote, and cloud based production models.

  • Proven experience producing events in a live streaming or broadcast environment.

  • Experience with storytelling, editing, shooting, lighting, and audio.

  • Critical thinking and troubleshooting experience.

  • Ability to lead, execute and deliver in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.

  • Familiarity with software based production tools, such as OBS and vMix, as well as Blackmagic ATEM.

  • Familiarity with Prosumer level cameras (i.e. Panasonic CX350 and CX10, Marshall POV cameras, Panasonic PTZ, etc.) and fiber optic cabling and connectivity.

  • Ability to manage simultaneous tasks and communicate progress with multiple parties.

  • Self-managing skills to dig into projects, search out necessary information, set timelines and be able to stick to them.

  • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with show talent prior to and throughout the execution of the broadcast to further storylines and keep the event relevant.

  • Familiarity with broadcast graphics systems is a strong plus (Singular Live, Ross Expression, Chyron, GT Title, Characterworks).

  • Experience with Google and/or Excel spreadsheets and data integration with graphics systems a plus.

  • Ability to meet high travel requirements, including weekends and holidays.
