Job description

Company Description
Achieve is a leading digital personal finance company. We help everyday people move from struggling to thriving by providing innovative, personalized financial solutions. By leveraging proprietary data and analytics, our solutions are tailored for each step of our member's financial journey to include personal loans, home equity loans, debt consolidation, financial tools and education. Every day, we get to help our members move their finances forward with care, compassion, and empathetic touch. We put people first and treat them like humans, not account numbers.
Job Description
The Opportunity
We're hiring a Social Content Creator to shoot, edit, and produce short-form video across Achieve and Freedom Debt Relief. This is a hands-on production role. The person in this seat will be behind the camera, in the edit bay, and on the timeline every day. If your strongest skill is briefing other people to make content, this isn't the job. If your strongest skill is making the content yourself, keep reading.
We're looking for someone who knows how to stop the scroll. Personal finance and debt are two of the most crowded verticals on Social, and the work has to compete on craft, not just cadence. Hooks, pacing, sound, cuts, captions, and the first 1.5 seconds are all your responsibility, and you should be able to defend every choice you make on a timeline.
This is also an on-camera role. We need someone who is comfortable being the face of the brand in content. That means hosting explainers, reacting to trends, interviewing creators and employees, and representing Achieve and Freedom Debt Relief to our audiences. You should also be able to flip the camera around and produce the work behind it. If you only want to be behind the lens, this isn't the right fit.
Our mission is to destigmatize debt and help people get out of it. Achieve speaks to the "smarter debt starts here" audience, people actively managing their financial lives. Freedom Debt Relief speaks to people moving from financial stress to stability, often at the hardest point of their debt journey. You'll shift fluently between those two voices, sometimes in the same day.
You'll report directly to the Head of Social and work closely with our Video Producer and the broader Social teams across Achieve and FDR to build a monthly content plan for social video. That planning work covers priorities, channel mix, talent, and production timelines before anything goes into the field. You'll also partner with our Social Intelligence Strategist on trend signals and content opportunities, and work with footage delivered by our external creators, turning their raw material into platform-native edits we can test and optimize for performance.
A portfolio is required for this role. Applications submitted without one will not be reviewed.
What you'll do:
  • Show up on camera as a brand representative. You'll host segments, deliver explainers, react to trends, and appear regularly in content for both Achieve and FDR. This is not an occasional ask. Being in the frame is half the job.
  • Shoot original video content for both brands, including on-location, in-studio, remote, and self-shot production. You own the camera, the lighting, the audio, and the setup.
  • Edit short-form vertical video for TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts. You're fluent in Premiere or Final Cut and native in CapCut. Motion graphics, sound design, captions, and text overlays are all yours.
  • Produce content end to end. That covers concept, script, shot list, shoot, edit, export, and delivery. You own the pipeline from idea to published file.
  • Make content that performs. You should be able to walk us through specific pieces you've made, what you were trying to do, whether it worked, and why. Views are a vanity metric. Retention, completion, saves, and shares are how we evaluate.
  • Direct on-camera talent, including employees, executives, and external creators. Pull natural performances out of people who aren't professional actors.
  • Build the monthly social video content plan alongside our Video Producer and the Social teams for Achieve and FDR. You'll bring production-level thinking to the planning cycle, thinking through what's shootable, what's reusable, and what fits the platform, so the plan actually ships.
  • Build a UGC video asset library with the Video Producer. Partner with our Video Producer to produce, organize, and maintain a library of UGC-style video assets (raw clips, b-roll, soundbites, and reusable segments, all shot in house) that the rest of the Social team can pull from for day-to-day publishing across both brands. Shoot new assets intentionally with future reuse in mind.
  • Produce and test edits from external creator content. Take footage delivered by our roster of external creators, and cut it into platform-native edits for TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts. Build variations to test hooks, pacing, length, and narrative structure, then iterate based on what performs on each channel. The goal is channel-specific storytelling, not a single master cut reused everywhere.
  • Turn work around fast when something breaks in the finance or debt conversation. Reactive content on tight cycles is part of the job. You can deliver a ready to publish video within 24 hours or less.

Qualifications
What you'll bring:
  • 3+ years producing short-form video for brand, agency, publisher, or creator channels.
  • A portfolio of short-form video work you personally shot and edited. This is required. Applications without a portfolio will not be reviewed.
  • Real shooting chops. You own a camera, you know how to light a scene, and you can capture clean audio without an external crew.
  • Real editing chops. You're fluent in a pro editor and native to CapCut, Kapwing, Filmora, etc. You know the difference between a TikTok cut and a Reels cut and you edit accordingly.
  • Demonstrated scroll-stopping work with real performance behind it. Be ready to talk through hook structure, pacing, sound selection, and why specific pieces landed.
  • Fluency with trend cycles, sound libraries, and platform-specific conventions. You watch the feed as research, not just entertainment.
  • On-camera presence. You're comfortable hosting and appearing in content regularly, not occasionally. You can hold a hook, deliver a line naturally, and represent the brand with warmth, credibility, and personality. Prior on-camera experience in brand, creator, broadcast, or similar settings is required.
  • Ability to direct other on-camera talent (employees, executives, and external creators) and shift between two distinct brand voices without flattening either one.

Nice to have
  • Experience producing recurring episodic series.
  • Regulated-industry experience in financial services, healthcare, insurance, or legal.
  • Motion graphics work in After Effects.
  • Your own POV on where the personal finance creator space is going.
