Dr. Shawneequa Callier is an expert in the ethical, legal, and social implications (ELSI) of bioethics, law, and emerging technologies as they relate to ethical research practices. She is seeking to hire a graduate research assistant to support academic literature and document reviews, conduct national and international legal research, and prepare summaries of updates to laws relevant to the field of genomics.
Position Specific Summary
The incumbent will work directly with Associate Professor Shawneequa Callier.
Responsibilities include conducting academic literature reviews; reviewing and coding institutional and legal documents; searching legal databases; analyzing contracts and policies; assisting with manuscript preparation; and meeting with Professor Callier on a regular basis.
Standard Position Description
The student will perform administrative and research tasks under general supervision by a faculty member or research coordinator. Tasks may include: contribute to peer reviewed research and write research memos of findings, assist with presentations, supervision and training of other student staff, write and run statistical programs to analysis data. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental/faculty needs.

Previous skills, training, or experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
JD candidate with experience researching and writing law review articles. Must be proficient in LexisNexis, Westlaw, and Bluebook citation format.
