The Remote Bcba Practicum is a supervised training phase for aspiring BCBAs, focusing on gaining practical experience under supervision. In contrast, a Remote Bcba is a certified professional providing direct behavioral services. The practicum is a learning opportunity, while the BCBA role involves independent practice and client management.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote BCBA Practicum, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote BCBA Practicum, you need foundational knowledge in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), enrollment in a graduate program approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), and supervised practical experience. Familiarity with ABA data collection software, telehealth platforms, and secure communication tools is essential. Strong organization, effective communication, and adaptability are crucial soft skills for engaging clients and supervisors remotely. These skills and qualifications are vital to ensure ethical, effective service delivery and successful completion of practicum requirements in a virtual environment.

What are some unique challenges of completing a BCBA practicum remotely, and how can I overcome them?

Completing a BCBA practicum remotely can present challenges such as limited face-to-face client interaction, navigating virtual supervision, and maintaining engagement with your practicum site’s team. To overcome these, it’s important to proactively communicate with your supervisor, utilize video conferencing tools to observe sessions and receive feedback, and stay organized with documentation. Building strong virtual connections with colleagues and seeking out additional learning opportunities online can also help you maximize your remote practicum experience.

What is a Remote BCBA Practicum?

A Remote BCBA Practicum is a supervised, hands-on training experience for individuals pursuing Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification, conducted virtually rather than in-person. During the practicum, trainees work with clients, participate in assessments, develop intervention plans, and receive supervision from a qualified BCBA, all via online platforms. This format allows for flexibility and accessibility, enabling students to gain required fieldwork hours from various locations while still meeting BACB supervision standards.

This organization meets our standards in:

  • Genuinely manageable caseload
  • Strong BCBA retention — confirmed
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Robust CEU support — ACE-approved provider with in-house opportunities
  • No billing-tied supervision — confirmed

We don't certify everyone, and we definitely don't promote clinics we wouldn't work at ourselves.

You'd Be a Great Fit If You:

  • Are a credentialed BCBA or BCaBA
  • Care deeply about ethical, high-quality ABA
  • Thrive in a multi-setting environment (home, center, community, schools)
  • Want strong administrative backup so you can focus on clinical work — not paperwork
  • Are interested in leadership, mentorship, or CEU development as part of your career path
  • Value a structured onboarding and coaching experience, not just being handed a caseload
  • Want to grow within a BCBA-owned organization that genuinely invests in its clinicians
