Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
We seek a doctoral level behavior analyst with experience in higher education, research participation and research oversight experience (including publication in ABA) and clinical expertise treating challenging behavior with more profoundly involved individuals. Must be committed to a culturally diverse teaching and learning environment and contemporary, compassionate service delivery.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • 12 credits annually teaching and overseeing research of PhD students
  • Guide students through research process, including design, implementation, analysis, presentation, publication
  • Assist with admissions decision-making, program orientation, and program outreach
  • Participate in program planning, course development, and course evaluation
  • Assist with the identification, compilation, and analysis of program assessment information;
  • Engage in school and university service and committee activities while also participating in community service activities aligned with the University's mission;
  • Manage the learning environment through keeping accurate records, submitting grades and other reports on time, and enforcing school/campus academic and attendance policies;
  • Actively participate and be involved in representing the university in local, state, and national professional organizations;
  • Maintain scheduled office hours according to university policy;
  • Attend faculty, department and university meetings;
  • Assist the admissions office with student recruitment by participating in open houses and other admissions events, calling and writing prospective students and other activities as requested;
  • Maintain an active presence at the university, including participation in major university events (e.g. Commencement, Academic Convocation) and student events;
  • Maintain appropriate standards of behavior, mutual respect, and safety in the classroom;
  • Stay current with best practices in teaching and learning;
  • Understand the role of assessment in achieving specifically stated learning outcomes;
  • Incorporate technology to enhance student learning;
  • Understand and appreciate the university's mission, purpose and goals and the role of faculty in achieving those goals;
  • Attend trainings as required;
  • Perform any other job related functions as assigned by the University

  • Doctorate in ABA or closely related field;
  • BCBA-D, licensed behavioral analyst;
  • Current teaching license preferred;
  • Ten + years of clinical experience providing behavioral treatment
  • 5 + years in higher education, experience with online/ remote instruction;
  • Expertise in treatment of challenging behavior, behavioral applications to a variety of clinical challenges, behavioral applications to organizational systems and OBM
  • Established research agenda and publication history in ABA;
  • Experience overseeing the research of graduate students and doctoral candidates
  • Excellent technology skills and experience teaching online preferred;
  • Excellent writing skills;
  • Experience supervising undergraduate/graduate students;
  • A record that speaks highly of teaching abilities;
  • Interest, initiative, and ability to develop and evaluate programs in the department;
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures;
  • Working knowledge of FERPA and HIPAA guidelines;
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and within FERPA and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license;
  • Must successfully pass the online safe Driving Course (within 15 days of hire) and driving record check at time of hire and annually thereafter.
  • Submit to and pass criminal offender records check (C.O.R.I.). and sexual offender records check (S.O.R.I.);
  • Ability to adhere to University policies and procedures.
  • All new employees must complete the FERPA, Anti-Harassment, and any other required online trainings within 15 days of employment.
  • General knowledge of the University's mission, purpose and goals and the role this position plays in achieving those goals.
