• Conduct thorough crisis assessments for individuals experiencing immediate mental health emergencies and implement effective intervention strategies.
• Provide direct counseling services to individuals facing addiction issues, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to support recovery.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency personnel when necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of clients in crises.
• Develop personalized crisis intervention plans that address the unique needs of each client while ensuring continuity of care through follow-up support.
• Utilize crisis intervention strategies and de-escalation techniques to effectively manage challenging situations, fostering a supportive environment for healing.
• Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to refine and enhance your skills in crisis counseling and trauma-informed care.

Our primary focus is individuals struggling with addiction and substance misuse, alongside those who require immediate support during emotional crises. We also address trauma, emotional distress, and suicidal ideation, ensuring that our clients receive compassionate and culturally sensitive care. As an LMHC at Avis, you will work with a diverse group of clients, offering tailored therapeutic interventions that resonate with their unique backgrounds and experiences.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution is required.
• Possession of a valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential is mandatory.
• A minimum of three years of recent experience in mental health counseling, particularly involved in crisis intervention.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with clients in distress.
• A commitment to providing culturally sensitive and empathetic care to a diverse clientele.
• In-depth knowledge of ethical and legal standards relevant to mental health counseling.

• Experience with evidence-based practices and techniques specific to addiction therapy and trauma-informed care.
• Familiarity with various mental health assessment tools and crisis intervention frameworks.
• Proficiency in developing comprehensive crisis intervention plans tailored to individual client needs.
• Continued education or certifications in specialized areas of mental health treatment.
