This position is located in the Department of Administration, Division of Facilities & Transportation Services and will be headquartered at 101 E. Wilson Street, Madison, WI, 53703.

Position Summary
The Bureau of Enterprise Fleet Director leads all enterprise state fleet activities including development and implementation of state fleet policies impacting all state agencies and the University of Wisconsin System. This position oversees management of Central Fleet, including the pool vehicle operation, the leased vehicle program operation. This position also oversees management of the operations at Wisconsin Air Services and Mail Transportation Services.
In addition, this position oversees the management of the operations at the State Records Center, and serves as the Executive Secretary of the Public Records Board and plays a major role in the development of records retention and disposition policies for all state agencies, the University of Wisconsin System, and local governments. This position is headquartered at the Administration Building and oversees operations at four satellite locations in Madison; therefore, a valid driver's license or the ability to provide one's own transportation is required.

Salary Information
Starting salary for the Administrative Manager (81-01) will be between $100,880 and $127,046.40 annually. Salary will be determined by applicant qualifications. This is a career executive position and may serve a 24-month trial period. Pay for current state employees will be in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.

Job Details
Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. DOA does not sponsor work visas and is not an eligible OPT (Optional Practical Training) employer for F-1 international students. Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have experience in all of the following:
  • Policy development and implementation (e.g. implementing program policies, rules, regulations, or similar)
  • Managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, acting as point of contact, business liaison, or similar
  • Management & Supervision including providing direction, evaluating performance, supporting employee development and addressing personnel matters (e.g. managing supervisory, lead worker staff, or similar)
In addition to the above, more than qualified applicants may have experience with:
  • Developing and managing strategic plans, budgets, rates, assessments, financial resources for complex programs and services (e.g. developing a budget, reviewing financial transactions, overseeing payments, or similar)
  • Developing, implementing and overseeing records management policies
  • Lead complex fleet, transportation, aviation, asset management, or other enterprise operational programs
  • Interpret statutes, regulations, policies, or administrative requirements and apply them to develop and implement enterprise program policies, procedures and operational guidance.
