What You'll Do

The Senior SAP Architect will lead the end-to-end architectural design, process, and technical strategy for enterprise-grade SAP products built on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).

This role will drive blueprinting, modernization, and scalable integration of Multi-Target Applications (MTAs) using the Cloud Application Programming (CAP) model and other cloud business solutions.

Critical to This Role: ERP & Business Process Expertise

This is not purely a technical architecture role.

The Architect must bring strong ERP experience and business process expertise, with the ability to:

  • Lead conversations around core enterprise processes (Finance, Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, etc.)
  • Translate functional requirements into scalable, well-architected technical solutions
  • Bridge business and engineering teams with confidence and clarity

We are specifically looking for either:

  • A functional SAP professional with deep ERP process knowledge who is passionate about custom applications and architecture

OR

  • A technical SAP professional who wants to expand into functional design and business architecture

The ideal candidate can discuss business process challenges and immediately formulate the corresponding technical solution architecture.

Architectural Accountability

You will design highly available, secure, and performant platform components across:

  • TypeScript-based NodeJS CAP service architectures
  • Enterprise CDS domain modeling
  • HANA and PostgreSQL data architecture
  • Identity & Access architecture (XSUAA, IAS/IPS, OAuth2, SAML, JWT)
  • SAP Destination & Connectivity framework design
  • React-based UI architecture

You will also guide strategy across:

  • SAPUI5 modernization approaches
  • Cloud-native architecture principles (eventing, microservices, containerization)
  • End-to-end DevOps architecture
  • ECC S/4HANA transition strategy

You will serve as the technical and process authority across engineering, product, SAP ABAP teams, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

What You Bring

You will act as the primary decision-maker for solution design, ERP alignment, and architectural governance.

Core Requirements

  • Strong ERP experience with deep business process expertise
  • Proven ability to lead business process discussions and convert them into technical solutions
  • Experience operating in one of the following profiles:
    • Functional-first SAP professional expanding into architecture
    • Technical-first SAP professional moving into functional/business architecture
  • Demonstrated ability to design end-to-end ERP-aligned extension architectures on SAP BTP

Technical Requirements

  • Expert-level NodeJS architecture experience
  • Expert-level TypeScript proficiency
  • Deep experience with SAP BTP platform architecture
  • Mastery of MTA and CAP frameworks
  • Strong cross-platform integration expertise
  • Advanced experience with React in SAP BTP ecosystems
  • Extensive SAP ecosystem knowledge (S/4, ECC, OData, RFC, IDoc)

Optional Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP FI/CO
  • Experience with SAP SD
  • ABAP extensibility and integration pattern experience
  • SAPUI5/UI5 enterprise architecture experience
  • Experience in global/distributed SAP landscapes

Why Join Protera?

  • Work with global enterprise clients
  • Learn fast with mentorship, certifications, and career growth
  • Make a real impact in a company where ideas are welcome
  • Flexible work setup (remote/hybrid)
  • People-first culture with a global mindset
