What Will You Do?
  • Perform key purchasing duties including submitting RFQs, coordinating the supplier set up in the Company ERP system when necessary, bids comparison, maintaining ASL lists, entering Purchase Orders/Blanket Orders, expediting, ensuring goods are received or assisting in solving discrepancies. 
  • Assist Accounts Payable (AP) to resolve supplier PO -invoice discrepancies, when needed 
  • Procure competitively priced materials, services and equipment of the correct technical specification, in an ethical, cost effective and timely manner. 
  • Ensured timely delivery of goods and services to meet business requirements within supply control. 
  • Track and maintain purchasing records files in the JD Edwards system. 
  • Optimize the purchasing processes, improving the quality of proposals through better materials and services alternatives, checking that suppliers have enough materials stock and service capacity and identifies areas of opportunities through substitution of quality equipment and parts, with similar technical specifications and lower costs. 
  • Manage supplier and vendor base as appropriate for role including purchase order management with the various vendors and responding to and resolving invoicing inquiries in a timely manner. 
  • Work with other supply professionals and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement of processes & procedures emphasizing standardization and simplicity where ever possible 
  • Improved lead time performance within procurement process ensuring timely delivery of goods and services to meet business requirements within Supply control. 
  • Monitor and review material purchase orders to ensure efficient and on time delivery of goods by preferred vendors and on time payment for such materials. 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, initiate and attend Supplier meetings, supplier performance reviews etc. 
  • Execute and control RFQ bid processes, awards, claims, and delivery of goods and services. 
  • Cost management to identify areas of potential cost reduction and manage cost saving metrics. 
  • Responsible for managing the Material Handler/Stockroom and assisting as needed including weekly cycle count to ensure inventory levels are accurate and maintained, correct discrepancies. (Ideally 10-20% of time/week but when training personnel 30% of time/week) 
  • Work with Stockroom to maintain inventory levels/safety stock. 
  • Provides Stockroom support in the absence of the Material Handler.  
Your Education Should be...
  • Associates Degree or equivalent work experience preferred. 
  • Experience using JD Edwards MRP system or equivalent business system(s). 
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…
  • This position will require the ability to move around the production floor 
  • Lift up to 15 pounds 
  • Sitting, standing, stooping, bending, other related tasks in an office setting 
  • Work may involve exposure to loud noise 
Your Experience Should Be...
  • 2-5 years procurement experience preferably in a manufacturing environment 
  • Purchase order entry experience, plus if you have experience using JDE 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple suppliers across different manufacturing sites and commodities 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office, MS Teams, Quickbase, experience with JD Edwards a plus
