Job Summary

Our Electrical Engineering Laboratory Intern will be responsible for supporting both the assembly and testing of a variety of controls for heat transfer and refrigeration products for the defense market. This position will include hands-on experience with wiring, assembly, and instrumentation. The Electrical Laboratory Intern will gain experience in the design and development of PLC hardware and software and model simulations through Mat Lab Simulink.  The intern will also assist in the development of flow control diagrams, electrical wiring schematics, wire list drawings and test procedures.  While performing assigned tasks, the intern will work closely with engineers and test technicians.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work closely with and assist engineers and test technicians in the assembly, setup and running of tests on a variety of equipment. 
  • Hands-on work with control systems for HVAC&R equipment, chillers, and water pumps.
  • Support assembly of test systems and prototype equipment using basic wiring skills.
  • Follow verbal instructions and written test procedures, record test data, and communicate test results.
  • Document test results and work procedures using MS Word and Excel.
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and customers as required.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing results in a cooperative and supportive manner.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team with other Engineers to achieve project goals.
  • Provide regular reporting of progress and status.
  • Attend appropriate engineering, customer and business meetings.
  • Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs and practices of the engineering team.
  • Carry out basic work instructions that will help in understanding the fundamentals of the Company.
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
Qualifications

   Minimum of two years towards a Electrical Engineering degree or related technical field 
   Competent using MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint)
   Competent technical expertise in conversion of various SI and English units
   Competency and experience running simulations in MatLab is a plus.
