Greenbriar Healthcare Center, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies is currently recruiting for a Transportation Assistant to join our team.
Thi position will work regular hours Normal hours 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, must be flexible for early or late appointments on occasion.

PURPOSE/BELIEF STATEMENT:

The position of Transportation Assistant exists to assist residents with transportation to and from inside facility and outside physician appointments and events in a safe manner and in accordance with established procedures. This position must work effectively with team members in ensuring that work is accomplished and quality care is delivered, supporting their team members and celebrating team successes. While focusing on delivering quality resident care, the position must also manage the resources that are available to them in their job.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Transport and assist residents, per facility vehicle, to outside physician visits in a safe manner.
  • Assist with transporting residents within the facility to scheduled specialty appointments, i.e. podiatry, audiology, optometry, dental, etc.
  • Assist with transporting residents to and from scheduled in-house activities.
  • Provide one on one monitoring for residents deemed an elopement risk on outside visits.
  • Perform basic nursing care procedures for residents as required.
  • Create a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents and assure that their needs are met.
  • Maintain resident documentation records.
  • Maintain and work within established departmental, center, and corporate policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled training, educational classes, and orientation programs to maintain certification and enhance quality of care.
  • Perform other related activities as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High school graduate or G. E. D. equivalent
  • Must possess a current, valid Driver's License in State of employment.
  • Graduate of an approved Nurse Aide Training Program or be eligible to enter such a program and graduate and pass a state test within 120 days from date of employment.
  • Must possess Red Cross First Aid Certificate.
  • Prior work/life experiences involving independent decision making
  • Prior work/life experiences, preferably in healthcare or a service industry
  • Compassionate and enthusiastic personality
