Job description

Under the direction of the Vice President of Sales, the Business Development Manager position is primarily responsible for growing the business in their assigned market segment by uncovering new sales opportunities and delivering them for execution. In addition, the Business Development Manager supports and animates the sales efforts of Plibrico's existing Construction Offices and PliPartners by providing technical support and segment-specific expertise.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
  • Identifies and drives new sales opportunities to the Construction offices and PliPartners to grow their businesses.
  • Works with end-users to get Plibrico products/solutions specified for upcoming projects and included on design drawings.
  • Manages new and current business in assigned segment at Construction Offices and PliPartners.
  • Provides technical support to Construction Offices, PliPartners and end-users.
  • Produces revenue growth in designated industry segment.
  • Creates and delivers effective sales presentations and marketing content (articles, social media, webinars, etc.)
  • Improves the perceived value of Plibrico's brand in designated industry segment, and increases Plibrico's brand recognition.
  • Assists Research & Development with product development in designated industry segment by anticipating future end-user needs and by continuously evaluating and improving product portfolio suitability.
  • Prepares reports and informs management of results.
  • Handles customer complaints and develops solutions.
  • Maintains knowledge by attending sales training, meetings, and events.

  • Adheres to environmental and safety regulations and acts in accordance with United States' laws.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Requires education generally equivalent to High School Diploma and/or equivalent work experience. Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or similar field preferred.
  • 5+ years of sales experience.
  • Advanced technical ability and familiarity with ceramic engineering and materials science.
  • Familiar and skilled with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM.
  • Excellent sales, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to formulate and implement sales strategies.
  • Ability and desire to work independently.
  • Proficient computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, or similar products).

POSITION TYPE: Full-Time
WORK HOURS: Monday through Friday, 7:30AM - 4:30PM
TRAVEL: 40 to 50% depending on the needs of the business
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The position is an office-based position with visits to work sites in the field. The colleague regularly performs work-related travel. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
