Job description

Some of what you will do:

Reporting to the Manager of Social Media, the Social Media Intern will support the day-to-day execution of Staples Canada's and Staples Professional social content strategy. This role will contribute to driving engagement, growing our online community, and increasing awareness of our brand and products. As a cross-functional collaborator, you'll work closely with our social media marketing agency to bring ideas to life.

Specifically, you will:

  • Assist with content creation including copywriting, basic design, and short-form video.

  • Track performance metrics and compile weekly reports to identify trends and opportunities.

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions for campaigns, product launches, and seasonal moments.

  • Research social trends, competitor activity, and emerging platform features to inform strategy.

  • Support influencer and partnership initiatives

  • Help maintain brand consistency across all social touchpoints.

Some of what you need:

Experience:

  • 0-1 years of experience in social media, marketing, communications, or related fields (internships, school projects, or personal content creation all count).

Education:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field.

Must have:

  • Strong understanding of major social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube).

  • Basic content creation skills - copywriting, photo/video editing, or design.

  • Familiarity with social media analytics and performance metrics.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
