Job Summary and Description
Teaching faculty are professional educators who have the primary responsibility of fulfilling the District mission of providing a quality education for all students attending the colleges. Categories include full-time, temporary with benefits, and temporary without benefits. Faculty members are responsible to a department/program chairperson; The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of leader, teacher, advisor, and facilitator of learning. Faculty members will uphold the mission and values of the colleges' and foster effective working relationships with students and colleagues.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in cyber security or related field; PLUS demonstrated three years of full-time cyber security work experience.
  • Cyber security proficiency in the areas of virtualization, basic networking, cyber defense, or intrusion detection.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Master's Degree in a related field and five years experience in Cyber Defense, particularly in the areas of computer forensics, intrusion detection, incident response and handling, and the Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Cyber Defense Network Infrastructure, SEIM implementation, and/or the use of Splunk, Snort, or YARA applications.
  • Current industry certifications to include CompTIA Security+, Fortinet NSE, Cisco, or Splunk. Teaching experience is a plus.
  • Must have a desire for lifelong learning and to maintain awareness of current cybersecurity industry trends.
