Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, driven, and innovative individual for our Data Analyst Intern position. The ideal candidate will be able to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer in Moscow, Idaho. If you are a current student passionate about data, eager to learn, and looking to enhance your academic experience, then this may be the position for you!

As an Data Analyst, a typical day might include the following:

  • Review data, create charts, dashboards, and reports as assigned.

  • Develop ways to avoid and deter data inconsistencies at the source in addition to review, validate, research, clean and transform those inconsistencies.

  • Communicating data insights clearly and effectively to a variety of stakeholders, including both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Support analysts to improve current reports and data sources.

  • Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

  • Understand. Create. Simplify.

  • Other duties as assigned.

This job might be for you if:

  • Current student pursuing a degree in Analytics, Math, Statistics, or Social Sciences

  • Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access

  • Strong analytical, judgment, organizational, and project management skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills

  • Ability to learn and communicate technical/scientific information

  • Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively in a team environment

  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities

  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL

  • Negative drug test result(s)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Python, R, SQL or other analytic languages

Experience with reporting software, such as Web Intelligence or Power BI
