Yoga Instructor Job Description
Title: Yoga Instructor
Reports To: Yoga and Fitness Supervisor
Department: Yoga
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Classification: Part-Time Hourly
Location: Reno, NV
We are looking for someone available for subbing and/or the ability to be regularly scheduled for offerings on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Training in Yin or Pilates is a plus.

As a Yoga Instructor, you are passionate about supporting others in their yoga journey. You enjoy leading groups and cultivating an encouraging learning environment. You apply your yoga knowledge and expertise to engagingly lead yoga classes and support students' growth. As a Yoga Instructor, you are organized, reliable, and consistently demonstrate professionalism. You strive to continue developing your own skills and support the continued development of Mesa Rim's Yoga Program.
The What:
Yoga Instructors are responsible for leading engaging group yoga classes that support the Mesa Rim Community.
  • Regularly teach Mesa Rim yoga classes (vinyasa, yin, ashtanga, bowspring, restorative, etc.) of all levels
  • Instruct in accordance with the Mesa Rim Yoga Philosophy and Operations Manual
  • Teach participants about applicable yoga movements and techniques, safely demonstrating as needed
  • Manage time and group dynamic effectively, adapting sequences as needed
  • Teach and reinforce safety and injury-prevention practices with participants
  • Work as part of a team, supporting fellow instructors and subbing classes in accordance with Protocol
  • Tidy studio after each class in accordance with Protocol
  • Ensure equipment levels meet program needs and inform supervisor of any shortfalls
  • Motivate students and encourage progress in practice
  • Provide information about complementary or related Mesa Rim programs and resources (climbing, other yoga classes, private instruction, pro shop gear, setting info, youth programs, Climbing Academy, etc.) as appropriate
  • Demonstrate professional behavior and excellent customer service at all times, paying special attention to being on time and prepared for all classes
  • Serve as Mesa Rim cultural example, consistently demonstrating Mesa Rim Core Values

Hours vary and minimums may be required according to the needs of business operations at each location
Must-Haves:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be a compatible match with the Mesa Rim Climbing Center culture
  • Must have ability to seek and accept, as well as give, critical feedback in a professional manner
  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude and be a team player
  • Must have a drive to grow professionally
  • Must have a 200 hour Yoga Instructor certification
  • Must have at least 1 year or 100 hours of teaching experience
  • Must demonstrate a passion for yoga
  • Must enjoy being a teacher and instructing others
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills and be customer-service oriented

Nice-to-Haves:
  • Previous climbing experience and knowledge of climbing technique and movement strongly preferred
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certification preferred
  • Previous experience with variety of Mesa Rim climbing and yoga classes

Yoga Instructor Pay Range $26.75-$56 /hour
