Description:

Summary of Description:

Designer II will provide direction and supervision of drafting by preparing sketches and drawing layouts under the direction of an engineer or design specialist. Ability to coordinate field data gathering with little to no supervision. Ability to check design drawings but not responsible for the final checking (this is the responsibility of either the design engineer or the design specialist).


Duties:

  • Computer aided drafting – AutoCAD, CADWorx, or similar 3D software.
  • Developing plans, sections, details, or 3D models from sketches.
  • Drawing layout, dimensioning, and extraction of drawings from 3D model.
  • Field measurements and sketches.
  • Knowledge of basic discipline symbols, drafting standards, and codes.
  • Ability to read and understand civil, piping, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation, and project related drawings.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


Education and Experience:

High School diploma and vocational drafting school with at least nine (9) years of experience in discipline field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.


Licensing Requirements:

Valid Driver’s License as per State law or requirement


Specific Skills:

  • Basic Math including geometry and trigonometry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook with preference on spreadsheets, data base and word processing.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk up to one mile on industrial plant and construction sites outdoors at any time of the year.
  • Ability to work in protective clothing which may elevate body temperatures by several degrees Fahrenheit for periods of up to 15 minutes without a break.
  • Ability to use multi-level stair towers and rung ladders unassisted.
  • Ability to hear safety alarms and signals while wearing hearing protection.
  • Ability to sit at desk and operate computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear.
  • Ability to see with visual acuity and distinguish between colors.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift and carry 15 lbs. on a regular basis is required and at times lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required.
Requirements:

* Due to being an in-plant position, the below referenced Job Duties have been provided by the client:

  • 3–5 years of experience required; mid-level preferred.
  • Support the closeout of Management of Change (MOC) activities.
  • Strong instrumentation background required, with familiarity working with related tools and equipment.
  • Candidate should be comfortable supporting field and documentation activities as needed.
  • Part-time availability will be considered by the client.
