Can I do an internship and work part-time?

Yes, a part-time internship allows you to gain experience while working fewer hours than a full-time position. It's important to manage your time effectively to meet both commitments.

Can I do a part-time internship on OPT?

Yes, international students on Optional Practical Training (OPT) can participate in part-time internships, typically defined as 20 hours or less per week, especially during their academic program. However, for post-completion OPT, full-time employment is usually required, and part-time internships may need to meet specific criteria set by USCIS and the student's academic program requirements.

Can I work part-time on OPT for 20 hrs?

Part-time OPT employment for international students is typically limited to 20 hours per week during the academic year. For full-time OPT, which is usually 40 hours per week, students must work in a role related to their field of study, and any part-time work must comply with USCIS regulations. It is important to ensure that the employment hours and job duties meet OPT requirements to maintain legal status.
