About National Rarities
National Rarities is a premier estate buying company headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. We partner with jewelry stores across the country to host multi-buying events where customers bring in valuables - like fine jewelry and luxury goods - for expert evaluation and no-obligation offers. We're a fast growing company with a passion for customer service, education, and professional development.
Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable numismatics enthusiast to join our coin department. In this role, you'll inventory, assess, and strategize the sale of collectible coins, currency, and precious metals-either in bulk or individually online. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, goal-oriented individuals with a knack for building relationships and driving sales. This position offers significant potential for residual income and career advancement. We are flexible with part-time (10-28 hours/week) or full-time schedules, based on your experience and availability.
Requirements
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Procure, research, sort, and appraise collectible coins, currency, precious metals, and related artifacts, handling inventories valued at multi-million dollars annually.
  • Use technical grading knowledge to organize, price, catalog, and track inventory for optimal sales.
  • Strategize and execute sales of lots in bulk or individually via online platforms (e.g., eBay, Etsy, Live Auctioneers, social media) and auctions.
  • Cultivate and expand relationships with high-net-worth collectors, investors, and wholesale vendors to retain and grow business.
  • Provide expert consultations to retail customers on rare coins, bullion, paper money, gold, and silver products.
  • Collaborate with the team to meet or exceed departmental goals, including inventory management and sales targets.

Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of experience in numismatics (coins, currency, or precious metals) or equivalent knowledge; brokers with an existing book of business are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Numismatic certifications (e.g., from ANA, PCGS, or NGC) are a plus but not required.
  • Moderate computer skills, including proficiency with inventory software, online auction platforms, and basic e-commerce tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and visual acuity for identifying fine print, hallmarks, and authenticity markers.
  • Solid interpersonal and customer service skills, with experience in buying/selling preferred (but not required).
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to self-direct and achieve goals independently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Benefits (Full-Time Eligible)
  • Compensation based on experience and availability
  • Health Insurance: Company contributions for Medical, Dental, and Vision
  • 401(k): With a generous company match
  • PTO: 15 days after 60 days of employment
  • Insurance Coverage: Company-paid Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability Insurance
  • Paid holidays and family leave
  • $250 annual attire reimbursement
  • $20/month phone reimbursement
  • Optional Coverage: Voluntary Short-Term Disability and Voluntary Additional Life Insurance
